Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, UV/VIS

Method is used mainly for routine measurements and research, and it is suitable for organic and non-organic samples for detecting anions, like phosphates and nitrates. It is used mainly for water quality analysis, where the total amounts of phosphorus and nitrogen are being measured. For example, higher amounts of detected phosphorus and nitrogen indicate more polluted water when analysing wastewaters. As an advantage the temperature does not usually affect to the results.
