The drop for example of ionized water is set on the surface with a pipette and the sessile drop is then  imaged with microscope (Olympus SZ-PT ) equipped with a digital camera (Olympus Camedia C-3030 zoom). Using a 45° angle mirror, the image of the drop is converted to a side profile. The side profile is photographed and at the both sides of the drop contact angles are measured using a computer  and GIMP-program.
