The long experience and broad knowledge of different types of chemical sensors at the
laboratory of Analytical Chemistry have made it possible to design different types of all-solid-state ionselective
electrodes. Electrically conducting polymers are usually incorporated in these devices in order
to facilitate the ion-to-electron transduction process between (a) the solid contact and the electrically
conducting substrate and (b) the conducting polymer and the ion-selective membrane. The chemical
sensor group possess the knowledge, which is required to design different types of all-solid-state
devices for different application areas including clinical and environmental analysis.
